What a mud race we got on Saturday in the first meeting of CEMAR 2016 in Dall, Aalborg. What a shame cause the race track was perfectly prepped and ready for some good race….right up til Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Somebody hadn’t finished the dinner plate Thursday night cause the sky opened and it rained continuously for 6 hours. Luckily our experienced track keeper in ALMK had seen it coming, and he hadn’t harrowed the track so most of the water was drained away from the track. However, nothing could drain all that rain, so the Jury met on Friday and decided to let the next days morning practice decide whether to race or not. Saturday morning arrived with dry sky and wind, which meant good chances of drying up the track quickly, and the Jury decided to continue the race as scheduled. Unfortunately some riders had turned around and gone home, and some didn’t even show up but 89 riders decided to race, and what a commitment to racing. Thank you all for supporting the event and race the “mud race”. We all got a 10 years younger appearance due to the all the mud – cause there was still plenty of it 🙂
